I sign my ware: βTHβ (as shown on the three mugs). Almost every piece has a code-number that references our testing system (e.g. L4131, P6842). Sometimes, the number shown is the name of the clay that was used (e.g. "M325", a body from Plainsman Clays). I used to sign pieces (until about 2000) as shown lower-right (it shows a lab code number and the name of the clay body. The β81β is, in fact, from 1981).
