Commercialism has reached pottery, packaging and selling "easy creativity," sucking much of the meaning out of the very traditions that sustained us for millennia. Wasn't traditional ceramics a character-building process? A real-world challenge that can't be "undone" with a click. Didn't it foster mentally stable, resilient, and connected human beings? Aren't the potters of India, who dig and prepare their own clay and glazes the real inspiration? Or is it painting ten colors of $50/bottle goop onto lumps of clay for social validation on a TikTok?
